Football Career Quest Transfers: Contracts, Roles and Agent Requests

Quick answer: Football Career Quest evaluates your base overall rating, season result, average match rating and fame when it builds a transfer window. A strong finish can produce as many as three step-up offers. You can also ask your agent once per season to search for eligible clubs, including domestic moves that may offer more minutes. Compare the offered role as well as the club and wage: moving to a bigger club can leave you with fewer minutes.

Football Career Quest—called Soccer Career Quest in the US App Store—is a player-career simulation, not a club transfer market. You are deciding where one fictional footballer plays next. You do not buy and sell a squad, negotiate transfer fees or choose licensed real-world clubs.

This guide covers the public 1.9.0 release. Its rules explain why an offer can appear, but they do not guarantee a particular club or career result.

What creates an ordinary transfer offer?

The game opens its transfer window after the season and evaluates several parts of the career together:

  • Your base overall rating must meet the destination club's requirement.
  • Your club's final league position controls how many ordinary offers may be available.
  • Your season average rating and fame can help when the league finish alone is not enough.
  • The destination must be a valid step up under the game's league, country and club-prestige rules.

A top-two finish can produce up to three ordinary offers, while a finish from third to sixth can produce up to two. A lower finish can still produce one in some career states, but the average-rating and fame requirements become stricter. These are maximums, not promises: there still needs to be an eligible club whose requirement your player meets.

That is why copying somebody else's season result does not guarantee their shortlist. Their position build, base overall, current club, league and fame may differ from yours.

What does Ask Your Agent do?

Ask Your Agent is a once-per-season transfer request. If you use it during the regular season, the request is queued and the agent searches when that season ends. If the transfer window is already open, the search happens then.

The agent can return up to three eligible clubs. Unlike an ordinary unsolicited offer, this shortlist can include a lateral or lower domestic move marked More Minutes, as well as a valid Step Up. That makes the request useful when your current club is prestigious but your squad role is limiting your playing time.

An agent search can also return no suitable clubs. The request is still consumed for that season, so it is not a reroll button. Asking again in the same season will not generate a new shortlist.

Cross-country agent approaches are narrower than domestic moves in version 1.9.0: they require an eligible top-tier destination and enough fame. Treat fame as one part of eligibility, not a guarantee of an international offer.

Why the offered role matters

Every transfer offer includes a squad role:

  • Key Player
  • First Team
  • Rotation
  • Impact Sub

The role changes the minutes calculation used by the match simulation. Key Player and First Team roles add to the minutes opportunity; Rotation and Impact Sub reduce it. Match Fitness and the rest of the simulation still matter, so a role is an advantage or constraint rather than a fixed promise of 90 minutes.

The practical trade-off is simple: a prestigious step up may offer a smaller role, while a domestic move found by your agent may offer more minutes. Choose which outcome fits the career you want instead of treating club prestige or weekly wage as the only score.

What should you compare before accepting?

Read the complete offer card before choosing:

  1. Club and league: Is this the level and country you want for the next season?
  2. Offered role: Does it improve or reduce your likely minutes?
  3. Required overall: How closely does your current build fit the destination?
  4. Weekly wage and season bonus: These change your fictional career finances.
  5. Continental qualification: If shown, decide whether that competition matters to your story.
  6. Step Up or More Minutes: This label explains the main shape of the move.

Accepting one transfer expires the other pending offers and moves the career into the offseason. In version 1.9.0, a transfer gives the new club, league, role, weekly wage and season bonus on a two-year contract. It does not add a transfer signing bonus.

If all offers are optional, you can reject them individually or stay at your current club. Staying is a real choice; you do not have to move merely because an offer appeared.

When is a move mandatory?

The manager can require a move when the season average rating falls below 6.4 or the player's base overall no longer meets the current club's requirement. Those offers point toward an eligible domestic club with a larger role.

A mandatory manager move takes priority over an agent request. You cannot reject the mandatory offer or choose to stay, and an already queued agent request cannot replace it. This is a career consequence, not an App Store purchase or random paywall.

A sensible transfer-window checklist

Before choosing, ask:

  • Do I want a higher level, more minutes, or continuity?
  • Does the offered role suit my current overall?
  • Am I accepting for the club name, or for what the career will actually change?
  • Would another season at my current club help the build I am making?
  • Have I checked every pending offer before making the one final acceptance?

There is no universally best transfer. The useful decision is the one that matches your player build and the story you want to continue.
